Morgan Fogarty to take on the desert this weekend at Hattah

BCP Pro Circuit Honda Junior Development rider Morgan Fogarty is hoping to go one better on last years effort as he lines up for this weekend’s Hattah Desert Race near Mildura, Victoria. The young 15 year old, who specialises in the field of Motocross really enjoys the wide open spaces of desert racing and is looking forward to putting his Honda BCP CRF150R to the test this weekend.

“We have done a fair bit of testing and added a large capacity fuel tank to the CRF150R during the week in preparation for this weekend’s event,” said Fogarty.

“The four stroke is so smooth and easy to ride compared to the two stroke so I’m hoping that with a bit of luck we will be able to go one better than our second place overall last year in the 85cc to 150cc big wheel class and get the category win.”

“It is really such a laid back, chilled out atmosphere up here for the event. Everyone has such a good time and helps each other out if there is any dramas. I’ve only been back on the bike for a few weeks since injuring my leg but each time I ride I am feeling more and more comfortable.”

Fogarty scored himself three wins on the trot earlier in the year on board his Honda CRF150R and is hoping to get back to his winning ways this weekend before tackling the final round of the Victorian state MX titles at Blue Rock on the 1st and 2nd of August. Team manager Lee Hogan is right behind his young guns efforts this weekend.

“I think it is great that Morgan wants to head up and race this event,” said Hogan.

“It’s awesome to see the keen-ness in Morgan to race different elements of the sport. He’s extremely talented on the bike, whether it be MX, desert or off road and he really just loves a challenge.  Morgan is really happy with how the CRF150R has come up duriing his desert testing and we wish him the best for this weekend’s race.”
