Team BCP Yoshimura Honda Development riders Madi Healey, Cambell Williamsand Hixson McInneslined up at the Bega ‘King of MX Qualifier’ over the weekend with some of the countries best riders present!
In only her third race as a senior Madi Healey dominated the women’s class on her Honda CRF250R while also lining up in the tough MX3 category finishing a solid 7thplace overall against the boys.
“It was a tough day racing both classes,” said Healey.
“I’m definitely feeling it now that’s for sure. But I’m so happy to get my first win as a senior and hopefully we can keep the ball rolling from here.”
Madi’s teammate and rookie to the junior 250cc class Hixson McInnes impressed once again on the big bike by finishing 4thplace in all three Junior 250cc races, giving him a solid fourth place overall against kids three years older than him.
“I’m really enjoying the big bike and racing against the older kids,” said McInnes.
“My size is helping me on the bigger bike but I just need to get my starts a little more on point and I’ll be right in there battling for podiums.”
Reigning 250cc Junior Champion Cambell Williams was on rails during the early stages of the day however having a huge crash while leading moto 2 and was taken to hospital for observations.
Team manager Lee Hoganhad this to say on the weekends results.
“I’m so proud of Madi getting her first senior win so early in the season! Hixson has been working extremely hard in the off season and I could tell at our January Boot Camp that he was going to ruffle some feathers against the older boys this year. I know how hard Cambell has been training and we’re all keeping our fingers crossed that he’ll be back on the bike real soon. Overall, a terrific weekend for the team,” said Hogan.
