Western Australian young gun Makayla Rimbas will join the BCP Factory Honda Junior MX Team for season 2025, following in the footsteps of older sister Leah Rimbas who will make the step up to the senior ranks after an extremely successful 2024 season with the team.
“I’m so excited to be joining the Honda Junior team and can’t wait to get the season started,” said Makayla.
“Up until this point I’ve been racing the 125cc and 85cc two strokes but from the moment I got on the CRF250R I’ve felt at home straight away.”
Team manager Lee Hogan is excited to see the tradition continue coming into the 11th year straight supporting junior girls on board the Factory Honda Junior Team.
“It’s a little bit of a bitter sweet feeling as we say goodbye to Leah Rimbas who makes her senior debut for 2025, while also welcoming Makayla to the team,” said Hogan.
“Leah was such a revelation for us this year, going undefeated in her WA State Title Championship while also finishing a credible 2nd place in the National Junior Titles while racing with a broken bone in her shoulder. I see so many similarities between both Leah and Makayla and we’re fortunate enough to have secured Makayla’s services for her final year of juniors in 2025. I think she’ll be a great addition to the team and look forward to working with her throughout the year.”
Makayla Rimbas will be one of three brand new riders for the team in 2025 with current team riders Seth Shackleton and Jacob Salih both turning senior for 2025!
With two exciting young riders set to join Makayla we’ll be announcing in coming weeks the complete BCP Honda Junior Team for 2025!
