NSW young gun Hixson McInneshas extended his contract with the Factory Honda Junior outfit for a further two years after just completing his second consecutive year with the BCP Yoshimura Honda Junior Development Team. Originally signed back in 2019 to ride the rocketship Geico Honda CRF150R for the Aussie based team, the kid from Cooma in NSW had a rapid growth spurt and almost immediately stepped up to the larger CRF250R as a young 12 year old where he impressed right from the get go!

“I just took to the bigger bike straight away,” said McInnes.
“The Honda 250 is such an easy bike to throw around and I felt comfortable during my first couple of rides. Those first couple of years were tough though having to race up against kids two and three years older than me but it made me toughen up pretty quick and I’m so glad I made the early move up to the 250cc class now.”

McInnes teams up with young 14 year old superstar Darci Whalleyfor 2022 who hails from the Queensland central coast and will tackle all major state and national championships throughout the season.

“We have some young blood in the team for 2022 and it’s exciting for me as team manager to have both Hixson and Darci locked in until the end of 2023,” said Team Manager Lee Hogan.
“It allows us to put both short and long term plans in place and set about achieving them, both for the riders and the team as a whole. We originally brought Hixson on as a young development rider to team mate Cambell Williams, however this last twelve month period we’ve been super impressed with Hixson and he’s earned himself a bunch of wins and podiums around the country.”

Expect to hear further announcements on the team and the official BCP Yoshimura Honda Junior Development Team release in coming weeks including race team graphics.
