In what would be postcard weather conditions for racing motocross combined with a well prepared and technical circuit Horsham provided plenty of action for riders and spectators alike for Round 2 of the Pro MX Championships!

Young gun BCP HAS Honda Junior Development Team rider Seth Shackleton started the day strongly in group 2 of the MX3 timed qualifying setting the 4th fastest time of the morning! A good jump out of the gate in moto 1 unfortunately meant being in the wrong place at the wrong time as multiple riders came together at the head of the pack entering turn one. Shackleton would put down some super fast laps early in the moto coming from outside of the top 20 to eventually finish a strong 8th place having to pass an enormous number of riders on his way into the top 10!

“That first moto I felt really good on the bike and strung together some solid laps coming through the field,” said Shackleton.
“I had some good passing lines and was just so gutted that I got caught up in the first turn chaos.”

Moto 2 saw once again a decent jump out of the gate but an early tip over dropped the Honda rider back into the mid pack!

“Race two was a bit more of a struggle as I felt the rear end of the bike feeling a little different to moto 1 while driving out of corners,” commented Shackleton!
“I could feel something wasn’t quite right with the shock and tried my best to adjust my lines to suit the situation but I got kicked off a huge bump and stepped straight through the bars. I did everything I could and we salvaged 10th overall on the day and currently sit in 7th place overall for the championship.”

Round 3 of the Pro MX Series heads next to Gillman in South Australia and a personal favourite track for Shackleton who impressed greatly on the loamy circuit in 2023!

“We had a good run last year at Gillman and I’m really looking forward to getting back there,” said Shackleton!

Team Manager Lee Hogan is positive as we head into Round 3 of the series.

“We’ve taken some huge steps forward recently, both with the development of the bike and Seth’s training both on and off the bike has been impeccable,” said Hogan.
“We’ll keep digging our heels in each time we line up on the gates.”

Shackleton will line up this weekend in Gillman, South Australia for their upcoming round of the SA State Championships.
