Round One of the Tasmanian Off Road series kicked off over the weekend at the ‘Coal Mine’ event in the North West of the state. Last years champion Baylee Davies carrying the number 1 plate on board his BCP Honda CRF250R started off his series campaign with a solid third place on the podium.
“I haven’t had the most ideal lead up to round one but still felt really good on the bike,” said Baylee.
“Jonte and Kyron are both really riding well so I’m going to have to pick my pace up and stay consistent if I hope to keep this number one plate for another season.”
With a new schedule for 2019, Davies has shifted his focus slightly to now include more coaching and development for the young up and coming Tasmanian riders.
“For the last couple of years my focus has been on winning the Tasmanian Off Road Series while trying to place as high as possible in the Australian Off Road Series,” said Baylee.
“This year we have shifted our focus to just race the state series while conducting a bunch of BCP Honda Coaching clinics locally here in Tasmania for both Motocross and Off Road. I really enjoy passing on the skills to other riders and decent coaching is something that is hard to come by here in Tasmania with only a couple of credible coaching companies currently operating.”
The next round of the TERC will be held at Gawler On the 14th April!
