BCP Honda Factory Junior Team racer Hixson McInneshas taken first blood over the weekend with a solid victory at Round 1 of the Victorian Junior MX Titles at Portland. The Honda rider took the win in the premiere 250cc Junior Lites A grade category on board his CRF250R!
“We’ve had a solid pre season and it’s so good to tick off the first major race of the year with a win,” said McInnes.
“This is a real good warm up for Round 1 of the Pro MX series which starts in two weeks time at Wonthaggi. My bike is working so well and it feels good to get on top of my injuries!”
Team manager Lee Hoganhas supported McInnes throughout the bulk of his junior career with the kid from Cooma, NSW now in his fourth consecutive year with the BCP Honda Factory Junior Team!
“It’s so pleasing to see Hixson start the 2023 season so strong,” said Hogan.
“He’s always been such a big, tall kid and we had to get him off the CRF150R at the age of 13 to pop him onto the CRF250R because he was just too big for it. So it’s really easy to forget how much younger he was than the other kids over the last couple of years. He’s definitely done his apprenticeship now and his final year in juniors should be a good one for him.”
McInnes will be joined by his BCP Honda Factory Junior Team-mate, 14 year old WA young gun Seth Shackletonin two weeks time as they line up in the ultra competitive MX3 category.
