BCP Honda Factory Junior Team riders Seth Shackletonand Hixson McInneshave started their 2023 Pro MX MX3 season campaign in fine form after a grinding day at Appin, NSW.
Young 14 year old Western Australian Seth Shackleton qualified 5th fastest in group 1 of the MX3 class and put in a stellar ride in moto 1 coming from outside of the top 30 to finish an impressive 11th place.

“I just spun out of the gate and had to fight my way from the back of the pack up to 11th,” said Shackleton.
“I really wanted to start off with a top 10 at least but a bad start makes things so hard in this class.”

In terribly deep track conditions and close to 40 degrees out on the race track, Shackleton would finish the day in 13th overall!

“I’m looking forward to the next round at Wodonga and one thing I know for sure is that we’ll be working on our starts over the next few weeks. I can’t wait to be up near the pointy end of the field battling with those boys.”

Seth’s team mate Hixson McInnes suffered from some bad starts also throughout the day but charged hard through the pack in both points scoring motos to finish one place behind his team mate on the day in 14th place overall.

“I was really happy with my riding, especially in moto 2,” said McInnes.
“A poor qualifying position meant I didn’t get the best pick of the grid for moto 1 but I tried my best to climb through the field as far as I could. We’ll be better at Wodonga!”

The BCP Honda Factory Junior Team will line up once again at Round 2 of the Pro MX Championship April 16th as the series heads to Wodonga in Victoria.
