Rounds 4 and 5 of the NSW Off Road Championships were held over the weekend at Cessnock in perfect conditions, with sunny skies and cold, foggy mornings! Tanesha Harnett on board her BCP Pro Circuit Honda Development Team CRF250R kept her unbeaten streak alive by dominating both rounds on the Saturday and Sunday, scoring solid wins in the junior women’s category.
“It was good to tackle the off roads again after so much motocross lately,” said Harnett.
“The bike was working really well out there this weekend and I’m just really enjoying my riding. I’m trying not to think too much about the win streak and just take each weekend as it comes. We’ve got a lot of focus on the National Junior MX titles and most of our build up is for that so we’ll just keep doing what we’re doing and enjoy the wins if they come.”
The two round wins over the weekend make it five round wins out of five so far in the NSW Off Road Championships for Tanesha Harnett in 2018. On the 21st and 22nd July Harnett will compete alongside her team-mates in the final round of the Victorian Junior State MX Titles where she has currently won all six motos in the first three rounds.
“Tanesha has been on another level this year,” said Team Manager Lee Hogan.
“Her speed and consistency has been unbelievable since the start of the season. She’s been training so hard and it has all just clicked for her. Plus, she has really gelled with this new 2018 Honda CRF250R. The bike suits her down to the ground and the electric start has meant that she hasn’t had to stress if she stalls it in a corner. Hopefully she can finish the season off strongly and give herself a good slingshot into her senior career.”
