An exciting young line-up of riders from both New South Wales and country Victoria will form a three rider factory Honda Junior Team for 2019! The BCP Pro Circuit Honda Junior Development Team will be in its fifth year running in 2019 under the guidance of 11 times National Motocross and Supercross Champion Lee Hogan and will feature current National Junior Motocross Champion Benny Novak from NSW, young gun Madi Healey and up and coming junior Dominic Walker, both from country Victoria.
Team manager Lee Hogan is excited to be working with his new team of riders in preparation for the upcoming season.
“Benny, Dom and Madi have only had their new 2019 Honda CRF250R’s for a very short period of time so it was great to spend some quality time with them over the weekend riding and training while we did our team launch photo shoot,” said Hogan.
“All three riders have taken to their new bikes extremely quickly and are feeling comfortable and looking fast in these early stages of development. We’ve got a huge year ahead of us contesting major state and national events here in Australia along with some international events that have been penciled into the calendar.”
Rising star and National number one Benny Novak has been counting down the days to when he could announce his new ride to his fans, family and friends!
“We’ve had the deal secured since early in the week of the National Junior MX Championships back in late September so its been quite difficult to keep it all under wraps,” said Novak.
“I couldn’t believe how easy it was to tackle corners on the new Honda compared to what I was riding before. The bike really suits me and I’m looking forward to fine tuning it even more during the off season. We’ve got a really good group of riders on the team and everyone gets along great which is important.”
Madi Healey has been riding and training on her new Honda for two weeks now and has gelled with the red machine right off the bat.
“The Honda suits my riding style and was really easy to adapt to,” said Healey.
“Lee got to spend a fair bit of time riding with me at the launch over the weekend and we’ve already ironed out a couple of things that needed to be worked on. I’m already feeling faster and more comfortable on the bike and can’t wait to get the off-season training schedule into full swing.”
The final member of the team Dominic Walker was only signed in mid November but has quickly felt at home on his new ride and new team environment.
“I’m so stoked to get this opportunity to ride for Lee Hogan and his BCP Pro Circuit Honda Junior Development Team,” said Dominic.
“The bikes and team as a whole are always on point and I’ve done quite a bit of coaching with Lee in the past and he always seems to get the best out of me. I’m really looking forward to 2019.”
The team will contest their own local State MX Titles, the three round ‘Rookies Cup’ that runs in conjunction with the MX Nationals series, and the week-long National Junior MX Titles which will be held at the Gillman circuit in SA in early October 2019 along with other individual events.
